The Internet is a platform that is used by millions of people all over the world in order to be able view files as well as information that have been loaded onto a server. Therefore, this raises the question who invented the internet. The Internet is where all computer users will be able to get any information that they may be looking for as computer users can also exchange information through the uses of various email servers used to send and receive emails from various computer users. The internet is made up of several concepts that were introduced by different people and this will mean that one person did not invent the internet as some people have claimed but several people and there are several factors that prove the specific people that were involved in the invention of the internet.
Initially the Internet was referred to as APRANET, which stood for Advanced Research Projects Agency NETwork that was developed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DAPRA) as a means to share information on defense research between the involved universities and the defense research facilities. Those who invented APRANET can also claim they made major contributions among those who invented the internet. The APRANET started out as only a means of emailing each other as well as several FTP sites and Usenet where the scientist would use this as a platform to question and answer each other. This concept of emailing each other was developed in 1964 and the first message being sent on 1969 between UCLA and Stanford Research Institute.
After this concept, there were several other Internet concepts that came up from different individuals and most of these individuals can also claim they are one of those who invented the internet. The involved institutions that were dealing with internet had to try out all these concepts and if they were successful they had to be incorporated. The testing of these concepts were done under some ground rules for standardizations and these rules were laid out by the involved Institutions and this made it easier for people to know who invented the internet. One of the most important concepts of the internet is the communication protocol that is known as TCP/IP and this concept was developed by two individuals by the names Vint Cert and Robert Kahn in the year 1974.

Another equally important concept of the internet is the Ethernet which is the basic communication standard in networked computers and this was developed by Robert Metcalfe. HTML is also another concept that is credited to Tim Berners-Lee who was working at CERN when he developed it and this is the same company that has been credited with ease of use as well as wide public adoption of the web and also among those who invented the internet. Al Gore is another individual that has contributed to the Internet being what it is today and this is because he was responsible for the US legal Framework and government issues that were related to the internet and thus explains the people who invented the internet.
